Cosmos Mariner Productions founder Michael Jordan has traveled around the world covering American sailors, Marines, and Coast Guard members.  Michael's work includes two embarks aboard nuclear missile submarines, five voyages aboard US, French, and British aircraft carriers, a deployment off the African coast, and more.

Off African Coast Aboard the
USS Samuel B. Roberts 2011

In summer 2011, the Mayport, FL-based frigate USS Samuel B. Roberts sailed across the Atlantic for a mission called Africa Partnership Station, during which they worked with the navies and coast guards of friendly nations in the region.  Military reporter Michael Jordan of Cosmos Mariner Productions produced a two-part series (each one half hour) for WJXT-TV in Jacksonville, FL.

Operation Bold Alligator 2012

Operation Bold Alligator, a massive amphibious exercise off the North Carolina coast in February 2012, involved 14,500 personnel and 24 vessels from multipile nations.  This clip combines Michael's reports for WJXT-TV 4 in Jacksonville, FL and WTGS/Fox 28 in Savannah, GA.

Aboard Submarine USS Georgia
(SSGN 729) 2008

In 2008, the US Navy converted four of its intercontinental ballistic missile submarines into a new type of sub, capable of launching more than 100 Tomahawk cruise missiles or carrying squads of US Navy SEALS.  Military reporter Michael Jordan of Cosmos Mariner Productions went to sea aboard one of those subs, the USS Georgia, and filed this report for WSAV-TV/NBC Savannah.

"Life on the Big E"- USS Enterprise 2006

In the summer of 2006, military reporter Michael Jordan spent two weeks aboard the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Enterprise as the ship transited through the Suez Canal and into the Arabian Sea, In this half-hour television special, which was nominated for a 2007 Regional EMMY Award, Michael profiles the professionals who launch and recover fighters and other aircraft at sea, and their families back at home.  It's a fast-paced, hearth-pounding look at life on the "Big E."

US Navy Helos Deployed at Sea

In the summer of 2011, Michael Jordan flew with members of a Jacksonville, FL-based US Navy helicopter unit during their deployment aboard a US Navy frigate in the Indian Ocean.

Aboard French and US Aircraft Carriers

In the mid-2000's, military reporter Michael Jordan explored the little-known, behind-the-scenes cooperation between the French and US military. Michael went aboard the French Navy aircraft carrier Charles DeGaule in the Mediterranean and aboard the US Navy carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt, in the Atlantic and found surprising connections between our two nations.

US Marine Corps Harriers aboard British Aircraft Carrier

In the summer of 2007, the US Marine Corps and British Royal Navy made history by accomplishing something that had never been done before: a wing of USMC Harrier jump jets operated for several days aboard the British aircraft carrier HMS Illustrious.  Military reporter Michael Jordan of Cosmos Mariner Productions accompanied the Marines on their history-making embark and filed this report as part of a longer film on US-British military cooperation.

Flying with Coast Guard Rescue Crews 2013

Each year, the helicopter rescue crews based at the Coast Guard Air Station in Savannah, GA are called out more than 200 times to search for boaters in distress.  Their flights cover a massive area ranging all the way from Wilmington, NC to Cape Canaveral, FL.
Military reporter Michael Jordan of Cosmos Mariner Productions has a behind-the-scenes look at these highly-skilled aviators in a report filed for WSAV-TV 3/NBC Savannah in December, 2013.

Canadian Coast Guard in Georgia 2013

In February and March 2013, helicopters and rescue swimmers from Canada traveled all the way to southeast Georgia to train for rescues at sea.  This allowed the Canadians the opportunity to escape the bitter cold at home and train in warmer waters with their American colleagues.  Training partners included aviators from Coast Guard Air Station Savannah and research vessels from Gray's Reef National Marine Sanctuary off the Georgia coast.

Military Reporter Michael Jordan's news report on the training aired on WSAV-TV 3/NBC in Savannah.
